Bologna makes initial bid for Robin Gosens

Bologna has made a formal offer to Union Berlin for Robin Gosens, the former Atalanta and Inter wing-back, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Bologna has officially proposed a deal to Union Berlin for the acquisition of Robin Gosens, the former Atalanta and Inter wing-back.

Expressing keen interest in the German wing-back, Bologna has made a formal bid to secure his services, as detailed by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Giovanni Sartori, the director of Rossoblu, has harbored admiration for Gosens for quite some time. He was instrumental in bringing Gosens to Italy back in 2017, facilitating his move to Atalanta.

As reported by Gazzetta, Bologna initiated their offer on Tuesday. The proposal involved a loan arrangement with a subsequent obligation to purchase Gosens for €7 million.

It is anticipated that Union Berlin will rebuff Bologna’s initial bid and instead seek a fee ranging between €12 million and €15 million.

At 29 years old, Gosens has amassed an impressive record, having scored 28 goals and contributed 19 assists in 160 Serie A appearances spanning his tenure with Inter and Atalanta. Other Serie A clubs, including Lazio and Torino, have also expressed interest in the versatile German defender.

Bologna’s qualification for the 2024-25 Champions League has bolstered their ambition, prompting significant changes within the club. This includes the recent appointment of Vincenzo Italiano as coach, succeeding Thiago Motta. Italiano arrives with a track record of reaching two consecutive Conference League Finals during his tenure at Fiorentina.
